Who Sets the Rules in Geauga County
Cities and villages in Geauga County handle their own street and curb rules at city or village hall; townships answer to their trustees and road departments, county roads to the Geauga County engineer, and state routes such as US 322 and US 6 to ODOT. Chardon is the county seat.

Geauga County gets more snow than anywhere else in Ohio; Chardon routinely tops 100 inches a season, so winter moves here need a weather plan and a flexible start time. Geauga County is wooded acreage, long private drives, horse farms and Amish farmsteads; many homes sit on two-plus acres well back from the road.
