💰 Pricing & Estimates
Local moves are priced at $136/hr for a standard 2-person crew ($68/hr per mover), plus $1.95 per mile. A 2-bedroom home typically takes 3–5 hours. All moves have a $750 minimum. You'll receive a written estimate before we begin.
No. We give you a written estimate before the move starts. The only add-on is a $10/hr per mover charge for difficult access (stairs, long carries, elevators, or restricted parking) — and we'll tell you upfront if that applies to your job.
All moves have a $750 minimum charge regardless of size or duration. Most local moves run 2–4 hours with a 2-person crew at $136/hr.
Long-distance moves (over 150 miles round trip) are priced by mileage. Intrastate moves within Ohio have a $425 service zone fee. Interstate moves to other states are $2.95 per mile. Special items like pianos and safes are $2.50–$4.00 per mile. You'll always get a written estimate first.
You pay for the actual time worked — not the estimate. If we finish faster than expected, your bill is lower. The estimate is the maximum, not a fixed price.
📦 What's Included
Yes — full packing and unpacking is included in our labor rate on every YouMove job. This includes boxing all items, wrapping fragile pieces, labeling boxes by room, and unpacking at your new home. Packing supplies (boxes, tape, wrap) are billed at standard rates.
Yes — we bring everything: the truck, dollies, moving blankets, straps, shrink wrap, floor runners, and door frame covers. You don't need to provide anything.
Yes — furniture disassembly and reassembly is included. We take apart beds, desks, and large furniture at your old home and put it all back together at the new one, wherever you want it.
Yes — we lay down floor runners and use door frame covers to protect both homes during the move. This is standard on every job at no extra charge.
📋 Booking & Process
For local moves, we recommend 2–3 weeks in advance. For long-distance or moves during busy season (May–September), book 4–6 weeks ahead. We do accommodate last-minute moves when availability allows — just call and ask.
We confirm your move the day before. Our crew calls 30 minutes before arrival on moving day. When we arrive, we do a quick walkthrough of the home, then get to work — packing, loading, transporting, and unpacking. We do a final walkthrough with you before we leave.
Yes — life happens. Call us as soon as you know you need to reschedule. We require reasonable notice for cancellations. Your deposit may be applied to a rescheduled date depending on timing.
We recommend someone be present at both the pickup and delivery locations. If you can't be there, we can work with a trusted representative who can answer questions and sign off on the move.
🛡️ Insurance & Liability
Yes — YouMove carries full liability insurance on every job from the moment we arrive to the moment we leave. All of our crew members are employees (not day laborers) and are covered under our policy.
Basic released value protection is the minimum coverage required by law. It covers 60 cents per pound per item. So if a 10-pound item is damaged, you'd receive $6.00. It's free but limited.
We offer optional full replacement value protection that covers damaged or lost items at their full value — not just weight-based. This covers high-value items, antiques, electronics, artwork, pairs and sets, and fire/theft/accident events. Coverage level is based on the declared value of your belongings.
Report any damage at delivery and we'll work with you to resolve it. Our crew handles your belongings with great care, but if something does happen, document it on the moving day paperwork and contact us immediately.
